Cacao Morning Brew -Healthier than coffee.

This bean is considered ‘the greatest medicine of all time’ —when you consume this marvelous bean as close to its original source (nibs or bean) you are eating something very positive for your health.

I switched to occasionally drinking cacao in the mornings when feeling like I need that morning pick me up— as I have unfortunately developed an intolerance to coffee. I loved coffee, I was a barista for 10 years, so coffee to me was one of the finer things in life.

Until I became super sensitive to its effects, jitters, anxiety, scattered feelings, crash in energy, skin rashes and much more.

Until I read about the cacao drink as a beautiful heart opening morning brew that stimulates and energizes with out the intensity of coffee.

Cacao

This magical medicine is more than the sugar filled candy bars you buy from the grocery store..

When you enjoy cacao in the form of dark chocolate above 70%, or more, you’ll really benefit from the many health benefits this plant has to offer.

Cacao improves mood, lowers blood pressure, supports healthy cholesterol levels, helps with memory and cognitive function, and decreases inflammation.

It’s been shown to help people with chronic fatigue syndrome and decrease anxiety in those who experience high levels of these two symptoms.

It is said to have 40 times more antioxidants than blueberries, have the highest source of plant-based iron, and high levels of magnesium-which is supportive of women health.

 

Heart opening

When I drink cacao, I make it a ritual, as you know i’m not one to have a solid morning routine but I am one to consider drinking it, a sacred ritual— to which I sit in silence on my balcony and enjoy the morning sunshine while listening to the birds.. Some people meditate, sit In awe and listen to the birds..

I used organic, fair trade cacao nibs from Nativa and cacao powder — I want to stress the importance of using fair-trade when it comes to buying cacao here’s an article explaining why this is important not only to me, but to the millions of farmers and families involved.

I use both powder and nibs in this recipe. why? Because that’s what happened when inspiration and curiosity are involved.

Naturally energizing and expanding..feel you heart opening and the creativity flowin.

VEGAN + DAIRY-FREE + PROCESSED SUGAR-FREE

INGREDIENTS-

  • 1 soaked Organic Medjool dates-pits removes ( pre-soak for 15 mins in hot water )

  • 1 cup unsweetened macadamia nut milk or milk of choice.

  • 1 Tbls coconut oil (optional)

Prep time: 5 mins Servings: 1

INSTRUCTIONS-

  • Place all in ingredients in a blender, I like to use my magic bullet for compact easy use.

  • Blend for 2-3 mins to unsure all the the nibs are broken up.

  • Pour into a small saucepan to warm, do not bring to boil as you’ll create a burnt flavor. warm to taste.

  • As its warming say your favorite prayer or mantra to infuse your brew with goddess.

  • Pour into your FAV mug or cup.

  • Sit in your favorite place to drink slowly and feel is powerful energy open your heart.

 
 

This is my morning routine when I feel I have a lot on my heart.

It helps me to articulate all that I need to share through words.

Sometimes it helps me before I host a woman circle, to help me sink in to deeper heart centered listening..

Other time’s.. I just like to eat chocolate for breakfast 😜
