Earth Goddess Blend
I chose very specific adaptogens + herbs for Earth Goddess Elixir. I chose them out of loving intention but also I chose them to help me in my own personal healing journey.
“Adaptogens support the body’s ability to accommodate varying physical + emotional stresses.”
roasted Dandelion root
You know those cute little ‘weeds’ with bright yellow flowers on your lawn?
Well, what if I told you they are my favorite herb to use. These little weeds pack an almighty punch, from the leaves to the roots. The roots have been something I’ve used in my life and continue to do so, for aided liver and Gallbladder support. For me our liver is such an important organ to take care of. The liver is responsible for hormone production and detoxification for the entire body. When your Liver isn’t working at optimum and is burdened by GMO’s, pharmaceuticals, food preservatives, alcohol and other unhealthy dietary facts, the livers energy will slow down. Slowing down the elimination of toxins, leading to a rise in imbalances emotions such as depression, frustration, anger, and fatigue.
I’ve used Dandelion for this very reason, and intuitively have felt so drawn to dandelion for many years. I’ll drink her in teas daily, and is one of the ingredients in Earth Goddess Elixir because as women, hormonally, we need that kind of support. Years of Birth control, stress and environmental toxins have disrupted our natural balance.
Dandelion works by stimulating the production of bile in the liver and Gallbladder, which is essential for the breaking down of our food and filtering out toxins.
Dandelion is a good healthy source of beta-carotin, magnesium, iron, potassium and zinc. Also an excellent source of vitamin A
Ashwaganda
One of my favorite adaptations for women’s health. Said to help with fatigue (something I battled most of 2020 with) Ashwaganda “ Gives you strength of a stalion ” I love her for her rejuvenating stimulation. She supports women’s reproductive health, hypothyroid, insomnia, libido, anxiety, asthma + insulin resistance. My holy grail when it comes to herbal medicine if you ask me.
Ashwagandha is a slow, restorative builder. There’s no big rush of energy, which means there’s no corresponding crash of energy running out.
Each day you have a little more vitality than the day before. After some time using Ashwaganda, you’re more likely to feel like you're old self again! Ashwagandha is particularly appropriate in cases of extended exhaustion, depletion, and deficiency.
A big part of choosing her, was for those reasons as I needed to recover from exhaustion, fatigue and emotional trauma. She has held me as I’ve committed to using her in my daily routine.
Some of her qualities include, more restful sleeps, stress relief, immune support, healthy energy, thyroid support, relief in oxidative stress.
Maca root
I first discovered Maca in Peru, its native origin. Back then it wasn’t in the mainstream health and wellness world yet. It was sold in local markets across Peru. Inexpensively too.
I lived in the Sacred Valley on a little permaculture farm on the side of a mountain called Calca. My breakfast consisted of banana, avocado maca and ice smoothies.. every morning.
I LOVED it, I felt it would give me a nice clean energy for early morning yoga and then 5 hours in the garden, weeding, shoveling and wheeling dirt back and forth.. or maybe it was my age—haha either way, I looked forward to my morning Maca smoothie as I watched the sun peer over the valley.
This is why I chose Maca, to bring those memories into my morning routine today, with Earth Goddess.
I use gelatinized Maca because using raw can be harmful.
Gelantinized cooks the maca root which makes it nutrients easier to absorb and digest. Maca allows you to have sustained energy throughout The day without the jittery crash of caffine. Amazing for both men + women in regards to sexual + reproductive health and vitality.
Said to support hormonal health, mood and energy.
Turkey tail
Science is only scratching the surface on this fungi that grows on dead hardwood stumps and downed hardwood trunks. On occasion, they'll even grow on conifers.
My chiropractor told me the amazing things they finding out about it’s neurological benefits, but ill stick to what I know about it.
-Immune boosting qualities with high antioxidants.
-Turkey tail contains prebiotic that help you with healthy gut bacteria. Thus causing a positive reaction in our immune system + responses to Inflammation.
-May reduce inflammation which was a main reason for me choosing this as I was suffering inflammation of the bladder and I really felt drawn to TT as a mushroom compared to the other popular mushrooms bursting through the wellness world..
I combined all these herbs and Adaptogens to give you Earth Goddess. Mixed in with cacao, cinnamon, ginger and coconut sugar for a yummy herbal drink to support you physically but also spiritually..
As I’ve said before she has a spirit of her own ;)
