Strawberry Shortcake Smoothie (Vegan+dairy free)
This Vegan, Dairy-free Healthy smoothie is not only a great start to the day, but an excuse to have dessert for breakfast 😜 Who doesn’t like an excuse to eat dessert first, right?!
This recipe was inspired by a lady called Yogi Nora- You’ll find her yoga video’s on youtube, but also to add my own flare and ideas into the mix, I added some cake inspired flavors to bring myself into the creation..
Enjoy this recipe as spring unfolds, a reminder that summer days that are upon us and to brighten your day with a healthy and delicious treat. Let me know how it goes by tagging me on instagram, would love to see how it goes down for you 😊
Just like Cake
I wanted to bring in some elements of cake.. Like the warmth of cinnamon and the texture of the crust of the cake, not to mention vanilla is a staple in the baking world.
Tools you’ll need
I love my vitamix Blender, but you can also use a bullet, just be sure its powerful enough to break up the dates and blend everything together.
measuring cups and spoons.
I use Organic FROZEN strawberries- Something about the strawberries being frozen add a cold milk shake like texture and it’s refreshing on a hot summers day..
I also pre-soak my dates in warm water before I blend them, this helps to soften them so that they are easy to blend-a good 15 mins should do the trick.
